'Organic Chemistry Teaching Tools' uses models and formulae side-by-side; stepwise mechanisms; interactive equations and lots of animation to show patterns in organic chemistry. Adobe Flash animation ensure that it flies fast across networks or the Internet. We also use MDL Chime, the definitive science community tool that displays molecular models like these:

The examples above are static, but the 'real models' have chemistry information which we tell you about when you need it. For instance, when you teach about ‘cis and trans' we tell you how to rotate groups around bonds. And when you compare benzene with phenol you'll see how charge is distributed. Above all, you will appreciate having models, and knowledge on what to do with them, built into the animation.

Does Chime do more than show ball and stick models?

Yes, and these videos show how to unlock information inside the models and they will make you into an expert. All you really need to remember is that our CD comes with 'Chime' (or you can download it) and that you learn as you as you go:
